When was the last time you did something YOU really enjoyed? When you experience positive emotions like JOY, not only do you feel good, it also enables you to undo the harmful effects of stress. Furthermore, you become more open-minded and are able to see/do things in novel ways. #research
As a parent, it's so important to be JOYful. I'm not saying you must walk around with a silly smile on your face (unless you like it, then why not?)! But sometimes in our day we are faced with negativity (complaining, work demands, tantrums...) that we need a refocus!
One thing I find easy to do is to create a JOY LIST!
1. Get a piece of paper or note card
2. Think of what brings you JOY
3. Write them on the card
4. Put them in your schedule!
